Stuart Recalled From Wolves
Posted by: Ben Wright on December 28, 2007 at 5:53PM EST
You may have noticed that Colin Stuart has been recalled from the Chicago Wolves. Nobody is hurt and nobody has been traded, but Jim slater wasn't feeling well and didn't skate today. He's doubtful for tomorrow night's game against Boston and since we aren't carrying any extra forwards someone needed to be called up to fill in on the checking lines.

Stuart brings size (6-2, 205) and speed and if he plays (which is likely) he'll be getting his first taste of NHL action after spending three seasons in the minors, including a brief stint in Gwinnett.

Well interesting he is Waddell's choice to fill in here. If anyone should be called up for this role it should be LaValle IMO or does LaValle have to clear waivers to be sent down?

LaVallee does not have to clear waivers, but I suspect Waddell wants to see what Waddell can do in the NHL. He's certainly put in his time in the AHL and done everything the team has asked, so he deserves a shot. LaVallee will get his chance, but Stuart is a hard worker who has seniority.

Let's hope Slater gets well today and Bobby Holik sits in the press box for the game. He continues to take too many penalties and play very poorly. Are stats available to show which player has the best plus/minus on penalties? In other words, take the amount of penalties drawn and subtract the amount of penalties committed. I would bet that Holik and Zhitnik are the worst on the team. Any help? Thx
