Draft Profiles Galore

So you want to know more about the top players in this year's draft, huh? Well if you're already finished reading the plethora of articles on NHL.com and you've combed through all of the player profiles, you can always watch the videos available through the NHL's online video player which has a truck load of profiles on the Draft Channel. Oddly enough there isn't one on Drew Doughty, but feel free to start off with Zach Bogosian.
It turns out my credential for the prospects luncheon is way out by Scotiabank Place and there's no way I can get there and back in time for the luncheon. Think I can talk my way in without it? Between my Thrashers laptop bag, Thrashers polo shirt and Thrashers business cards I think I might be able to pull it off.

I doubt you'll get in. Anyone can put on a Thrashers polo and act like they know what they're doing. Better off going to the Tim Horton's accross the street. There better be a coaching announcement today, or else Waddell is going to lose a LOT of support from the fans, and frankly, he doesn't have much more to lose... Most fans are frustrated with the team and will not be able to enjoy the draft without a head coach announced. WTF is Don waiting for...?

maybe he'll announce it at the draft tomorrow night... a bit theatrical if you ask me, but he'd certainly have the attention of the biggest and best possible audience for such an announcement.

Honestly why do we need a coach for draft day?? It is not like the players drafted are going to play in Atlanta this year or probably even next year.

At least someone in atlanta knows what there talking about

He wants to announce the new coach as close to the draft as he can so that he gets the least a mount of time possible for the critics to see how he looked for months now and still came up with a subpar coach or another puppet like Brad. It is like how the government always releases figures that make you made during the holidays so no one will notice. Some of you say Waddell is an idiot but he sure knows how to keep the presure off of him self and on some one else.

Coach?

They may not play for Atlanta this year, but they are going to be a piece of Atlanta. Whether we get them next year or they are a vital piece of a trade, the coach needs to be involved. He needs to know the needs of the team now, and for the long term (i.e. draft picks)

apparently Malkin could be on his way out because the penguins have made it a priority to sign hossa and that will raise their payroll by a lot so if this is true malkin should be on top of wadells list it would be a dream come true to have malkin paired with kovy

trade 3 and 29 pick for Malkin.....easy decision if they can get it.

if malkin is really available i say we just give everything back that we got for hossa and they give us dupuis and malkin it makes total sense its like a player swap two players of the same skill and caliber.

I'm almost certain that Malkin is not available (the rumor mongers are going crazy right now, geez!).
Even if he was, no GM would ever trade Malkin and Dupuis for Christiansen, Armstrong, Pieterangelo, and the 29th pick. That's just plain, downright stupid! The only reason the Thrashers made that trade before was because they were essentially trading 2-3 months worth of Dupuis and Hossa. Malkin in signed for another year and then becomes a restricted free agent, which is worth about 20 times what Hossa was worth in February. Oh yeah, Dupuis is a free agent so he can't be traded.
Yeah, that proposal made zero sense on many levels.

I hope we can find a place for Esposito this year. from what i've heard he has the potential to be another Kovy. that would be sweeeeeet.

About Espo, does anyone know what it is that really plagues him? Hockey's Future gives him a 8.5 D, meaning that he could really fall off the map. Buuut, they also say that his attitude problems (the "problem" most often targeted) is blown far out of proportion. Is it inconsistency, injury, whats bringing this guy down?

It's official! John Anderson is the new coach. It was announced on TSN's website. Somebody announced it on smirkinchicken's blog, but here is the link if you don't believe me.

Maybe we are lucky, and Anderson is already up there. Who knows? Maybe we can work toward what the Capitals have done this year, and work toward building a winner. I am not saying that this is what is going to happen, but I hope it does. I am going to wait and see, but I am still skeptical.
