You may have heard the announcements last night for the Blueland Block Party to be held this Saturday before the Thrashers close out the regular season against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Here are the details.

The festivities kick off at 4:30 in the afternoon on Philips Drive, which will be closed to traffic. There will be discounted food and beverages available as well as street hockey, the slap shot machine and the inflatables you've seen at our local hockey events, plus face painting, a kids table and a live 680 The Fan show. It should be lots of fun and it's a great way to meet other fans before we head into the playoffs.

Also, the doors to Philips Arena will open at 5:30 on Saturday and will continue to open 90 minutes before game time throughout the post-season.

Finally, remember to wear blue every time you visit Blueland. All of the true blue fans will be doing it, and you don't want to be that lone fan in yellow amidst a sea of blue, do you?
